Plan B one-step is one pill that helps prevent pregnancy before it starts. It temporarily delays ovulation which is the release of an egg from the ovary.

-use within 72 hours after unprotected sex or birth control failure.

-Emergency contraception that temporarily delays ovulation.

-Reduce the chance of pregnancy after unprotected sex.

Is not recommended for regular birth control.

Does not prevent STDs.

If you vomit within 2 hours after taking the medication, call a healthcare professional to find out if you should repeat the dose.
