Unlike traditional glucose meters that require fingerstick blood samples the Libre 3 uses a small sensor worn on the back of the upper arm. The sensor continuously measures glucoses levels in the interstitial fluid and sends the data to the reader.

-The FreeStyle Libre 3 reader is specific to the FreeStyle Libre 3 sensors and will not work with FreeStyle Libre 14 day or FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors.
